Laura (pronounced Lao-Ra) is a Colombian psychologist and a MSc Counselling Psychology student at the University of Calgary.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Universidad del Norte and a master’s in clinical and health psychology from Universidad de los Andes.
For the past three years, Laura has been supporting people as they navigate eating and body image challenges. She is passionate about helping people foster kinder, more compassionate relationships with their bodies, food, and movement.
Laura works from a client-centered approach, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She brings warmth, sense of humor, and deep respect for each person’s unique journey, honoring the complexity of these struggles and walking alongside clients as they work toward a healthier, more balanced life.
