Dr. Hanifa Dostmohamed, MD, CCFP

Dr. Hanifa Dostmohamed was born and raised in friendly Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Calgary after completing her residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Dostmohamed certified as a Diplomate of The American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2021 and genuinely finds working in the area of Obesity Medicine through her work at the Calgary Weight Management Clinic rewarding and impactful. She has a special interest and some additional training in Dermatology and practices general Family Medicine via locum work in the community and through The Mosaic PCN Access Clinic.

Prior to her medical training, Dr. Dostmohamed studied in the areas of Biology/Computer Science and Engineering through her degrees at Queen's University and McGill University. She briefly worked in the exciting area of surgical robots prior to medical school. These days, outside of work, Dr. Dostmohamed keeps busy with her young son and daughter, enjoys kayaking and canoeing as well as travelling.
